About the Founder

Mojgan Anvari believes that the most powerful way to protect our planet is to educate the generation that will create its future.

That belief became the foundation of Mission ECHT.

In 2020, after watching a documentary about shark finning and the devastating impact of overfishing on our oceans, Mojgan began an intensive journey of learning about marine ecosystems, climate science, biodiversity, and the interconnected systems that sustain life on Earth. The more she learned, the more she realized that while technology, innovation, and policy are essential, lasting environmental change begins much earlier—with education.

As a mother and lifelong nature lover, Mojgan often reflected on her own childhood. She spent her summers climbing fruit trees in her grandparents' orchards, wandering through streams, and exploring the outdoors. Those experiences nurtured a deep appreciation for nature and a lifelong respect for the environment.

As she watched the growing environmental challenges facing our world, one question stayed with her:

What if our children's children never have the opportunity to experience the beauty of clean rivers, thriving oceans, abundant wildlife, and healthy forests?

She realized that changing the future would require more than asking adults to change long-established habits. It would require educating children—helping them understand not only what is happening to our planet, but why it matters and how their everyday choices can make a difference.

From that vision, Mission ECHT was born.

Mission ECHT is dedicated to empowering children, families, schools, and communities through environmental education, hands-on learning, and meaningful community engagement. Its mission is to inspire informed choices that protect our waterways, oceans, wildlife, and natural resources while building a healthier, more sustainable future for generations to come.

The name ECHT reflects the organization's guiding values:

E — Environment

C — Compassion

H— Health

T — Transparency

Together, these values encourage young people to ask questions, seek knowledge, think critically, and understand the impact their choices have on people, animals, and the planet.

In addition to Mission ECHT, Mojgan founded the Anvari Foundation in honor of her father, Olympian Abolfazl Anvari. Raised in a small mountain village, he lost his father at a very young age and, through extraordinary determination, discipline, and perseverance, went on to represent Iran as an Olympian, earning international recognition and medals. His life taught Mojgan that resilience, purpose, and opportunity can change the course of a person's future.

Inspired by his legacy—and by her own experience as a foster parent—she created the Anvari Foundation to help foster and underserved children pursue their athletic dreams by providing sports equipment, athletic gear, and financial assistance for training and participation.

Although Mission ECHT and the Anvari Foundation serve different purposes, they share the same philosophy: every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and make a positive impact on the world.

Whether by protecting our environment or helping a child pursue a dream, Mojgan believes that investing in the next generation is the most meaningful way to create lasting change.
